Beach and Waterfront and Parks and Nature

Shelter Cove Park

A waterfront Toms River park with walking paths, open fields, sports courts, playgrounds, and views across Barnegat Bay. Dogs are welcome on leash throughout the park, but not on the beach.

Take Me There

Shelter Cove Park sits right on Barnegat Bay, with a mix of open grassy space, walking paths, sports fields, courts, and a sandy bayfront beach. The water gives the park a completely different feel from Toms River’s inland recreation parks, especially around the shoreline and gazebo areas. There are also playgrounds, a tot lot, basketball and tennis courts, soccer and softball fields, and restrooms. Dogs can walk through the park on leash, but Shelter Cove Beach itself is off-limits to pets.
