First lit in 1857, Absecon Lighthouse is the tallest in New Jersey and third tallest masonry lighthouse in the country, with 228 steps leading to sweeping Atlantic City skyline views. Leashed dogs are welcome on the two-acre grounds and inside the Keeper's House museum, though not up the narrow spiral staircase of the tower itself.
