Allaire State Park pairs miles of wooded trails with one of New Jersey’s best-known historic villages. Dogs can explore the park’s outdoor trails on a leash, including routes near the Manasquan River and the larger South Side trail system.

The trail network includes moderate paths, old roads and multi-use routes shared by hikers, cyclists and horseback riders. Visitors can also walk around the exterior grounds of Historic Allaire Village, although dogs cannot enter its buildings.

The park’s mixture of history, woodland and river scenery gives it a different feel from a standard nature preserve. Pine Creek Railroad rides and village events operate separately and may have their own schedules and fees.
