Batsto Village is an open-air piece of Pine Barrens history, with a mansion, general store, mill, and workers' cottages set beside Batsto Lake. The grounds are mostly flat, on a mix of paved, grass, and gravel paths that are easy on dogs of any age.

Several Wharton State Forest trails start here, so a stroll through the village can stretch into a longer hike through the pines.
