Doggy Bay is a short strip of sand on the bay side of Beach Haven, about 250 feet long. The water stays shallow well out from shore, which makes it a gentle place for dogs to splash, fetch, and swim.

It is a spot for dogs more than for people, with no room to set up for a beach day, and it sits a short walk from Bay Village.

Beach Haven allows dogs on its beaches from September 16 through May 14. Confirm summer access at the bay beach with the borough before you go.

Know before you go

  • Beach Haven allows dogs on its beaches September 16 through May 14. The borough's site doesn't say whether those dates cover the Taylor Avenue bay dog beach, so call 609-492-0111 before a summer visit
  • The beach is not fenced and backs onto private homes and a road
  • Bring fresh water, waste bags, and towels; there is little shade
  • Summer parking is hard to find
