Cattus Island County Park combines forest, salt marsh and bayfront scenery across 530 preserved acres. Its seven miles of trails range from easy woodland walks to longer routes leading toward Barnegat Bay.

Dogs can explore the outdoor trails on leash, including the popular route toward the shoreline. Boardwalks carry visitors across wetter sections, while several overlooks provide views of the bay and surrounding marshes.

The park also contains the Cooper Environmental Center, a butterfly garden, picnic spaces, a playground and an accessible 1,000-foot boardwalk. Dogs must remain outside the environmental center.
