Franklin Parker Preserve is New Jersey Conservation Foundation's largest property, roughly 11,000 acres in the heart of the Pine Barrens. It was a cranberry farm until 2003, and the old bogs have been restored to wetlands that draw birds, turtles and frogs.

Marked trails loop through pine forest and along the water, the Batona Trail passes through, and the Wading River runs nearby. The Speedwell entrance on Route 563 is the easiest starting point.
