Freedom Barks is a genuine destination, with 26 acres of open fields and wooded trails with a natural tree-line boundary instead of full fencing, plus two separate fenced runs (one for dogs under 25 lbs, one for all sizes) if your dog needs a more contained space to start. There's a cedar creek running through for dogs who love to swim, agility equipment, waste stations, picnic tables, grills, a playground, and public restrooms. USA Today named it one of the top 10 dog parks in the country, and it draws visitors from well outside Medford. Dogs must be leashed on the way in and out but can run off-leash once inside the main park boundary. The best entrance for the dog area is off Gill Road, near the soccer fields.
