High Mountain Park Preserve packs more than eleven miles of marked trails into the hills above Wayne. The climb to the summit is roughly two miles from the university trailhead and ends in an open field with wide views of northern New Jersey and Manhattan.

Along the way the trails pass streams, a waterfall, and rocky ridges. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
