Ideal Farm in Lafayette has been a family tradition for decades. In fall, hayrides head out to the pumpkin field, and there are farm animals to feed, warm fresh donuts, and Halloween attractions. The garden center and U-cut flower field keep it busy the rest of the year. It's rarely overcrowded, and leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Know before you go

  • Keep a short leash near the farm animals and petting area.
  • Skip the haunted attractions with your dog. Screaming Alley and the Haunted Tunnel are loud and dark.
  • The U-cut flower field is seasonal, so call ahead if that's the reason you're going.
  • Usually less crowded than bigger North Jersey farms, even on fall weekends.
