Known as the Gateway to the Pines, Jakes Branch County Park provides more than eight miles of walking and nature trails across 400 acres. The mostly sandy routes pass through classic Pine Barrens scenery and can be combined for walks of different lengths.

The park works well for visitors who want a genuine nature walk without traveling deep into South Jersey. Its trails are generally easy to follow, although sandy ground can make longer walks more tiring.

Other features include the Jakes Branch Nature Center, a five-story observation deck, playgrounds, athletic areas, picnic facilities and restrooms. Dogs must remain outside the Nature Center.
