Lake Horicon has been a local go-to for over a decade, a genuinely pretty spot with dark cedar water, a footbridge out to a small island, and picnic tables and grills at the rear of the lake. There's a nature trail for a jog or walk, and lifeguards staff the swimming beach in summer (June 19–September 1, 11 AM–5 PM daily). Dogs are welcome on a leash around the park, but they're not permitted in the lake itself
