Despite often being called Longport Dog Beach, this beach is actually on the Somers Point/Egg Harbor Township side of the Ocean Drive Bridge, across from the fishing pier (not in Longport itself). It's an open, off-leash bayside spot where dogs of all sizes can run free in the sand and water. Visitors consistently praise it for being clean, with a friendly, easygoing crowd of regulars.

Know before you go

  • The on-site parking is limited and fills up fast; parking on the roadway shoulders or bridge is strictly prohibited and ticketed
  • There are no reliable trash cans or public water fountains, so bring your own water and bowls and remember to take your trash with you when you leave
