Minnewaska covers almost 24,000 acres of the Shawangunk Ridge, with Lake Minnewaska and Lake Awosting set high on the ridge among cliffs and pitch pine. Awosting Falls is another favorite stop.

Dogs are welcome on a leash no longer than 6 feet on the trails and carriage roads. They stay out of picnic areas, beaches, buildings, and groomed ski trails.

Know before you go
