Morristown National Historical Park preserves several places connected to George Washington and the Continental Army, but Jockey Hollow is the part that makes this especially good for a walk with your dog. Trails cross the same wooded hills and fields where thousands of soldiers spent the brutal winter of 1779–1780, passing reconstructed soldier huts, the Grand Parade, streams, ponds, and the historic Wick Farm. The park has about 27 miles of marked trails altogether, ranging from short walks near the visitor center to several-mile hikes deeper into the woods.
