Perrineville Lake Park has more trail variety than most local parks, the 1.4-mile Lakeside Loop follows an old farm road along the water, the unpaved Pine Creek Trail runs about a mile, Rocky Brook winds for 2.4 miles, and there's a newer, more difficult Mine Hill Trail if you and your dog want something with real elevation. Leashed dogs are allowed on all the trails. It's a low-frills park, no buildings, just a portable toilet, so come prepared. Expect some muddy or grassy patches depending on the trail, waterproof shoes help. Watch for mountain bikers on the narrower sections.
