Ringwood State Park combines natural beauty with real history; it includes Ringwood Manor, Skylands Manor and botanical gardens, Shepherd Lake, and Bear Swamp Lake, all set in the Ramapo Mountains. Leashed dogs (max 6 feet) are welcome throughout the trails and grounds but are restricted from beaches, playgrounds, and inside park buildings. Swimming isn't permitted in the lakes or ponds. Trails range from easy walks to rockier terrain.

Know before you go

  • Use the Morris Road entrance for the Skylands and Shepherd Lake sections during normal hours.
