Riverwood Park is one of the better spots in Toms River when you want more than a quick loop around a neighborhood park. Beyond the sports fields, the park opens into quiet wooded trails that follow the river, with lots of shade and a much more tucked-away feel than you would expect this close to town. There are open grassy areas along the way too, so you can easily spend an hour wandering without feeling like you’re walking the same stretch over and over.
