The dog park at Robert J. Miller Air Park is a big, no-frills space where dogs can really stretch their legs. The fenced area is surrounded by pine woods and has much more room to run than a small neighborhood dog park, making it a good stop when your dog needs more than a regular walk. It’s tucked away inside the larger Air Park property, so it feels surprisingly quiet even though there’s plenty happening elsewhere in the park.

Know before you go

  • You need an Ocean County dog park permit to use the off-leash facility. The annual fee is $5 per dog. Registration requires a current municipal dog license, proof of current vaccinations, and proof that male dogs are neutered. Dogs must be at least 6 months old.
  • Dogs must be leashed before entering and immediately after leaving the fenced area. Owners also need to carry a leash for each dog while inside.
  • There is a limit of two dogs per person and a maximum of 20 dogs in the enclosure at one time. If people are waiting, Ocean County asks visitors to limit their stay to 30 minutes.
  • Food, dog treats, and toys are not allowed inside the off-leash area.
  • Bring a water bowl for your dog. Ocean County specifically lists this in the park rules.
  • Children under 8 are not permitted inside the off-leash facility. Children 8 and older must be closely supervised by an adult.
  • Dogs in heat and unneutered male dogs are not permitted.
  • The dog park can close because of wet or poor weather conditions. For closure information, call 732-341-3243.
  • Dogs can also visit the rest of the Ocean County park property on leash under the county park system’s general pet rules.
