Spring Lake Beach is one of the quieter stretches of the Jersey Shore, with wide sand, open Atlantic views, and a residential beachfront instead of rides and boardwalk shops. The dedicated dog beach near Pitney Avenue gives dogs their own fenced section right on the sand, with the ocean only steps away. It’s an especially pretty spot around sunrise, when the beach is quiet and there’s plenty of room to play by the water.

Know before you go

  • October 1 - May 14: Leashed dogs are permitted on Spring Lake's regular beaches
  • May 15 - September 30: Dogs are not allowed on the regular beaches, but the fenced Pitney Ave Dog Beach remains available
  • During the summer, the Pitney Dog Beach is open to dogs from Sunrise to 9 AM and from 6 PM to sunset
  • Dogs are never permitted on the Spring Lake boardwalk
  • Spring Lake does not allow food or coolers on the beaches
