Stokes State Forest covers a long stretch of the Kittatinny Ridge, with trails for every level. Easy paths follow clear creeks through the valley, while the Appalachian Trail runs the ridge to Sunrise Mountain and the Culver Fire Tower.

The forest is peaceful and lightly used, and its campgrounds include pet-friendly sites that are big and secluded.
