Van Nest Park sits along Grover's Mill Pond, with an open lawn, picnic tables, a playground, and a dock along the water. The park is also home to the Grovers Mill War of the Worlds monument and interpretive signs marking the fictional Martian landing site from Orson Welles’ 1938 broadcast. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout the park, and the pond and open grounds give it a simple, quiet neighborhood-park feel.
